Leslie Grove, Operations Manager of the Manhattan Project: "never put anything important in writing." Smart guy, because it is difficult to reconstruct any operations related to "hidden research" (as Grove called it) being done from the 40s on. It was wartime, don't you all know, and anything can be done in the name of National Security. (Sound familiar. Today's researcher should have no trouble with the concept. Conspiracies?
