No way >Stan Friedman Stan seems to like the status quo, or at least, sees no way to change it. I think it's abysmal. The continued emphasis on security by vested interests is leading to more and more loss of freedom. Isn't it just possible that some of the assumed hidden technology might help to eliminate aggressive behaviour? I like the already demonstrated ability to deactivate nuclear missiles, for example. But the people who profit from the war industry, who now hoard what we want disclosed, would never seek to limit their own ability for aggressive behaviour. After all, their primary objective is to be at the top of the power pyramid. Information is power, so it needs to be shared with everyone across national boundaries as much as possible in order to have a more egalitarian society. I suspect the Russians and Chinese might be more willing to do that than the US, given the right incentives. The US sees itself militarily at the top of the power pyramid, so why would it negotiate. Secrecy is its own positive feedback. The more you have, the more you think you need. Security is always a concern, but it can become an end in itself. Because of secrecy laws, we have no way to determine if that has already happened. But given the money and power involved, it probably has. William Listen to 'Strange Days...
