I may have been wrong in considering that as the "preferred" explanation because the initial reaction has been "astounding" (or at least surprising): the skeptic suggests that the Goodear blimp operations staff _falsified the flight records_ (in the copy of the flight log that they sent me) in order to avoid complications that might arise due to the UFO aspect of the sighting. Note that the important info from the flight log is the location of the blimp on May 24, 1949. The log says the blimp was several hundred miles away. The skeptic is suggesting that the blimp was at the Rogue River and caused the sighting, but they falsified the log to make it look as if the blimp was elsewhere so that there wouldn't be loads of questions from ufologists... Or something like that????? (the 'logic' in this escapes me) Listen to 'Strange Days...
