Jerry:

What I have found in chatting with fellow astronomers about
extra/off planet life is sometimes just opinions - you know,
like the general public.

I have never met and talked with other astronomers who pretend
to be experts in case reports. Rather, it is usually general
chatter over a few beers in a very casual atmosphere.

I just have read many more books on the subject - written by ufo
researchers - than other astronomers I meet up with.

However, their expertise on the subject will be grounded in
planetary science and exobiology. Opinions on those subjects are
well founded and beyond most ufo researchers' knowledge of the
subject.
