Some folk know I've been rabbiting about that 'instantaneous force' for quite a while, significantly (and sadly) re: macro effects like earthquakes - starting with the Greek ones and the big Turkey one immediately following the 1999 Aug eclipse. Since then have collected later Moon research which agrees, here's 2 quotes: ----- "A full moon may have helped trigger the Indian Ocean earthquake on December 26, 2004, which caused a tsunami leading to the deaths of an estimated 300,000 people, according to a new study from The University of Northampton. Robin Crockett, a senior lecturer in mathematics at the University's School of Applied Sciences and colleagues monitored tremors between October 2004 and August 2005, collecting tidal data along the Java/Sumatra trench. They found that major quakes were 86 per cent more likely around new and full moons... 23 October 2006 www.northampton.ac.uk/news/release/?id=UON6147 --- "Nikolaj Volodichev and Mikhail Panasjuk of the Skobeltsyn Research Institute of Nuclear Physics in Moscow... analysed data collected over 28 years from the Pacific 'ring of fire' - a region of intense earthquake activity. They found that the most severe earthquakes took place around the time of a new moon or a full moon." Feb 5, 2001 http://physicsworld.com/cws/article/news/2720 ----- And now, although there's been quite a quake-storm still ongoing since the last New Moon: http://tinyurl.com/yfwwxo2 Tomorrow is Full Moon at perigee (at about 18:10 UTC?) so listen out for quake/volcano news in next 48 hours or so maybe.
