Then one only exceeded by your own, Sir! You would appear to engage in what may prove to be a rush to the myth-ization of Budd Hopkins for the benefit of those intellectually, emotionally, or financially _invested_ in Budd Hopkins. Given all that's been revealed that stuns credulity, at best. >I am baffled to see how you are still around, spying on him. The woman made that abundantly clear, Mr. Bourdais. They share a building. "Spying" is just another, and wholly predicable, value judgment on your part, a judgment fomenting the general enmity and mendaciousness pervading presently and thereby committing the ethical breech alluded to. Budd Hopkins is not above the standard to which you would ascribe, Sir. He is not yet a saint in Heaven's Hallowed Halls. Too, one would be glad, one would think, that Hopkins has the opportunity to defend his work, even at this eleventh hour, and that he has some spirit/will with which to prosecute same. Actually passed, I suspect you'd be one of the first, Mr. Bourdais, to ironically bemoan the fact that Hopkins was not around to defend himself. Well, he _is_ around to defend himself. Should he _have_ to? Is _anyone_ under such requirement, Mr. Bourdais when _legitimate_ questions arise? Wasn't even Einstein trifled with questions on his death-bed? >If you still care for your ex-husband, the best you can do for >him is to leave him alone, now. In light of _your_ obvious cant, I submit that it is in no way appropriate that you advise Ms. Rainey with regard to anything, actually, in as much as it is not you who was intimately involved at the most existential levels of Hopkins' research effort, forgetting Hopkins _himself_, for a decade, and starting that decade, mind you, in all admiration, only to _lose_ all that admiration as the decade wore on. Where did that admiration go and _why_, Mr. Bourdais, in not worked into your equation on the matter. You , Sir, divide by zero. Woman scorned? Only when we can give equal time to the 'Gentleman' scorned, Mr. Bourdais. >You have harmed him enough. There's another biased value judgment (BVJ) based on the lack of acknowledgement of the cause of all this consternation. >How can you call him, coldly, "the dying man"? This is really >shocking. What's shocking, Sir, is that you can come up with yet _another_ BVJ, and every one a literary device to create dissention and hostility, a refusal to face facts, and the memorialization or mythification where it _may_yet_be_ that none is deserved. See, the only thing coldly delivered by Ms. Rainey was that Hopkins, while seriously ill, is _not_ dying in the manner prematurely eulogized by boosters like yourself. You got that one wrong, too. Closing, one can say what one wants about Budd Hopkins, who _may_ or may _not_ yet prove to be a great man, but it's my experience that a "good" cop without qualification standing up for a "bad" cop is, himself, a "bad" cop at the end of the day.
