Hi Eleanor, Don't want to get into an argument - but am bewildered when perfectly normal folk are recommended to 'seek counseling' or suchlike (after some trauma or other) - and particularly when referred to the non-science of psychiatry which, from the statistics, is largely populated by incompetent posers and/or power-seeking egomaniacs: i.e potential (and actual) abusers. Even for general counseling for work related or personal stress problems, I'm inclined to be sceptical, having seen some of those 'counselors' at work, in the military and later in large organizations in Mid-East as well as UK. They struck me as mediocre at the very best. And more recent research seems to back up my impressions: that is, most traumatized folk are helped more by talking to friends/family etc than by the (high-priced) "professionals". Overall think psychiatry, like the insurance industry, is an organized scam and best avoided. Unless legally obliged, of course. Cheers Ray D Listen to 'Strange Days...
