Joe

Obviously from your responses I realise it's going to be
exceptionally difficult to engage you in any serious
conversation about the value or otherwise of considering
parapsychology as part of any enquiry into UFOs - even though
most researchers would accept that many cases have a 'psychic'
element to them.

Yes they closed down the RV program but not before spending $20
million - and of course we don't know what's happening in any
black budget.

I probably wouldn't personally sacrifice a goat in this pursuit
- but then I am a vegetarian so have personal issues with that
method of divination....

But I would think it worthwhile using accredited mediums on
certain cases - why not use all the tools in our toolkit to try
to get to grips with a phenomena which has baffled great minds
for aeons?

Of course if you - as I suspect - have little or no respect for
psi research and people like Dean Radin, Hal Puthoff, Gary
Schwartz, Russell Targ, Robert Jahn, Edgar Mitchell and a host
of others, then there's little point in continuing this
dialogue.

But to be fair - you did say 'Maybe you're right - where would
you draw the line?'

I suppose the answer would have to be that it's not for me to
draw any line - research into anything in life has always ranged
from the totally whacky to the erudite.

If you're suggesting that mediums' involvement is as damaging to
UFO PR as 'goat sacrifice' - I wouldn't agree. I think there are
many people these days who accept some folk are more 'tuned in'
to being able to paranormally access information, than
others....and some of these are mediums.

Goat sacrifice on the other hand doesn't have a particularly
good public image and so wouldn't do the 'cause' of serious UFO
research a great deal of good!

But I have to say that entrails examination divination is
probably just another way of putting the mind into a certain
state which encourages perception of otherwise inaccessible
information... so maybe we shouldn't throw the goat out with the
bathwater...
