He should have recognized far sooner the glaringly obvious signs of mental illness, and the fact that he believed (or claims to have believed) that "hybrids" were using the woman's phone and email accounts to threaten him is hard to swallow. He shows an unforgivable lack of discernment and signs of delusion himself. And implanting the idea of MPD/DID as some sort of "defense" against the alleged aliens/hybrids is reprehensible and sounds more like something manufactured after the fact to excuse the bizarre behavior.
