Ha! Maybe should have put a question mark to 'fashion'. I was
probably thinking of the recurring disease of flared trousers
(bell-bottom jeans etc) and maybe 'big hair' for women?

In fact I've part-supported your view in a page on the
evolutionary benefits of 'fashion':

www.perceptions.couk.com/fashion.html

nb. a sharp reader might find some of my weaknesses in it: i.e.
a Danish colleague in love with Italian girls (as a genus),
passed on a liking for Gigliola, who was in her late folk-
singing stage while I was there - see 'Innocenza'.

Think that was also an evolutionary urge, for me.
