Hello William, Nicely put, and part of that - the signal/noise problem - has worried me also. Admittedly your concept of the Tibetan tulpa: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulpa could answer that, maybe in a solipsist sort of way (from what I've read not all tulpas are visible to third-parties). However, your analogy of the 'light on the wall' just provoked another answer to that massive signal/noise problem (especially troublesome in complex surroundings like cityscapes or jungles etc). I.e. - that their apparently amazing ability is down to the human observer effectively "addressing" the message or thought (unconsciously of course). Which still leaves us with an apparent mind-reading problem, but not such a preposterous one. [BTW - maybe a little caution is advisable here; one reads many accounts of people 'opening up their mind' to whatever is out there - the reported results are a bit dodgy, sometimes even tragic.] Cheers Ray D Listen to 'Strange Days...
