There doesn't seem to be any interest by the British press in doing "extraordinary investigation" of the phenomenon. It's been weeks since the first frost in the Coventry area, yet one motorist tells the Daily Mail that they were "small and green." This may contradict Mr Meakins in the BBC report, who said some of the apples were "large, like cooking apples (the Toronto Sun decides to play it safe by calling them "yellowy-green"). No-one appears to have wandered over to a greengrocer to find out what kinds of apples they were. When I'm around Albany, New York and have some time to spare, I occasionally stop at one of the cemeteries and visit Charles Fort's grave, leaving a flower on his headstone. I figure that kind of propitiatory gesture to the alpha Fortean might be better than just addressing a random Trickster in a "To Whom it mat Concern" fashion. No anvils or locomotives have fallen on any List members yet, so it may be working. Carol Maltby Listen to 'Strange Days...
