Well, Greg, I'll see your "close family members and friends in
higher government" posts and raise with a fellow traveler of
mine involved in things to do with astronomy. Someone
representing a higher power than the U.S. government and various
private agencies/industries.

Fr. Joe Anderson of the Vatican Observatory here in the
southeast desert of Arizona. We talk about ETs all the time and
the possibility of life elsewhere in the Universe. Just the
other night, at the club Christmas party, I discovered we agreed
that the ET/life that will first discovered by humans would be
large, intelligent, worms. He didn't blink or hesitate to agree
that they probably had a form of music.
