Though Budd's passing was not unexpected, I find that I'm having
a hard time with it this morning. My thoughts are held to
memories of this fine man. There is a deep sadness in my heart.

He and I were longtime friends, and our friendship is what I am
thinking of today. He was decent, smart, compassionate, and
funny. He was wonderful company and one of the world's most
entertaining raconteurs. His sense of humor can only be
described as impish. He was one of a kind. His work on the
abduction phenomenon will stand, even as the debate about its
ultimate nature will continue.

When I'm able to get my thoughts and feelings in order, I will
be writing a full tribute for publication in IUR.
