Though Budd's passing was not unexpected, I find that I'm having a hard time with it this morning. My thoughts are held to memories of this fine man. There is a deep sadness in my heart. He and I were longtime friends, and our friendship is what I am thinking of today. He was decent, smart, compassionate, and funny. He was wonderful company and one of the world's most entertaining raconteurs. His sense of humor can only be described as impish. He was one of a kind. His work on the abduction phenomenon will stand, even as the debate about its ultimate nature will continue.
