Don and Stan gave excellent presentations, and Don's description of what appears to have happened at Shag Harbour was particularly enjoyable. I picked up a copy of Dark Object by Don and his co-author Chris Styles. I was somewhat familiar with the story, but there were plenty of additional details in the book to make the story come alive. It was an enjoyable book to read and I finished it that same evening. It was also fun to listen to two of the witnesses who described what they saw in 1967 as if it were yesterday. There are two levels to the Shag Harbour UFO story. One consists of the descriptions offered by the eye witnesses accompanied by publicly available official documentation that a UFO had been sighted for a relatively long period of time. The other level of the story comes from three or four independent insider people that tells a tale of a UFO originating in Siberia, crossing the North Pole, hovering there, and then continuing on to enter the water at Shag Harbour. There it proceeded under water to Shelburne Harbour, stayed there for about a week, all the while being monitored by a number of navy ships overhead. It's almost certain that the files of the Canadian military contain more information. The more one learns about the story, the more interesting it gets. William Listen to 'Strange Days...
