The arrow headed vehicle that is being thrust into space has no engine itself and minimal control ability (thrusters). The rocket that sent it into space provides the speed while the delta is responsible for re-entry and then control down through the atmosphere to the intended target. The down range speed then is not new, it is escape velocity provided by the rocket. The media apparently does not get that part. Don Ledger Listen to 'Strange Days...
