Subject: Research List

Dear Listers,

I recently attended the 2011 MUFON Symposium, and, while at the
MUFON State Directors Meeting, I initiated a discussion about
UFO research.

The conversation concerned enhancing MUFON's website and/or the
MUFON UFO JOURNAL as a means of improving research in general by
adding an up-to-date listing of who's doing what as well as
what's not being done. This is a work in progress and your
information and suggestions would be welcomed. For the time
being, your input should be sent to me as I've volunteered to
see this accomplished. My e-mail address is:

waterufo.nul

The benefit of this would be that all UFO-connected topics would
either identify the researcher involved, so that new material
could be forwarded to that person, or identify what has not been
touched thus far.

The _important_ part of this is that one need not be a MUFON
member to be on this List.

As of this moment, I envision a simplistic system of four
columns. I will use my own field of research, UFOs and water, as
an example:

Topic Individual/S...........
E-Mail Address...............* (Details)
Water UFOs Carl Feindt waterufo.nul *
UFO eng No One...............*

Or, given the length that some topic titles might reach, perhaps
the following format might be better suited:

Topic:
Individual/s:
E-Mail Address:
Details *

The details asterisk would be a click-on link leading to a
separate page where we could list all that we can accumulate to
show what has been done in a specific area. If the area has had
no work done on it, then suggested avenues of interest within
that topic could point the way for anyone (a creditable anyone)
to begin research in an area of interest to him or her. I do not
mean to rule out new or young researchers who could cut their
teeth on a topic that has been overlooked in the past. An
example follows, again using my field of UFOs and water as an
example:

Research Done Thus Far

Periodical: FSR issue..., etc.

Book: Invisible Residents by Ivan T. Sanderson, c. 1970

Book: UFO Contact from Undersea by Dr. Virgilio Sanchez-Ocejo
and Lt. Col. Wendelle C. Stevens, c. 1982

Book: UFOs and Water by Carl Feindt, c. 2010

Suggested Additional Areas Of Research Within This Field
Ice circles, missing water (Tanks, pools, etc.)

Again, please feel free to offer any suggestions or ideas that
you may have. This will be an ongoing project to get it
right, so bear with me for the next 6 months.

Many thanks,

Carl Feind
MUFON Assistant State Director, Delaware
