Science fiction? No - the protozoan Toxoplasma gondii, or 'cat lovers disease' has been with us for millions of years and can now do all those mind-bending tricks, and probably many more that we just don't kmow about. And it 'owns' more than a third of humanity, perhaps even a majority of us. See http://tinyurl.com/3jwhl33 (wiki) Looking at its modus operandi one could be tempted to think that many 'bad' human traits - including bigotry, aggression and blind scepticism - aren't human at all. Cheers Ray D BTW - the parasite seems to have refined its treatment of the (human) sexes to optimise the number of future victims. I.e. although it makes all human victims more bigoted and aggressive, it also seems to sharpen-up the intellect of its female hosts - at least for much of their (child-bearing) lifetime.
