When I posted a similar article on this change of direction in SETI some months back, I believe I also commented on the fact that though Shostak now apparently believes we will find signals from advanced extraterrestrial machines in space, he still continues to hold on to the delusion that somehow such machines still can't get here from there. I guess there's some form of force-field around the solar system that blocks ETs.
