Yes, but looking at 'trace evidence' cases, and studies of close-encounter witnesses seems to show there's at least two catch-22s involved. First, many UFOs are surrounded by, or emanate, strong e.m fields, including hard radiation. So the sense-organs of a close-encounter witness could be influenced. And if the witness has had multiple sightings, further effects might be anticipated or suspected. Second, studies of witnesses seem to show character change following a close encounter.
