Mr. Shough and the List,

With the greatest of respect I confess that I am reminded by
your post of a lecture I attended in Waterloo, Ontario at the
tail end of the first Gulf Slaughter.

The speaker was Gwynne Dyer, the Canadian journalist and
military historian. After his talk, which if I remember
correctly concerned the putative New World Order, the floor was
thrown open for questions.

A tall, pale and ascetic-looking young man stood, stroked his
scruffy beard in obvious earnest reflection, and asked, "Um, is
your argument, then, a teleological one?"

To which Dyer shot back, breaking up the whole room, "Don't even
know what the word means!"

Regards,

David Galvin
