Hello Barry:

If I understand correctly, the MX-AF plane had an _air_ speed of
200 km/hour. That's an important point. Winds can probably
exceed 200 km/hr relative to the ground, and a balloon say, at
that altitude, would go just as fast.

IF the plane were going with the wind like a balloon does, it
would have a ground speed of 200 km/hr, but an air-speed of
zero. It would drop like a rock.

If indeed the object matched the speed of the plane, that
implies powered flight. I use the word 'implies' in the
mathematical sense, meaning it necessitates powered flight.

We would all like more light and less heat (except for the FLIR
IR images of course). I have no bulls in this dogfight, but just
want to see it resolved.

Even if the causes turn out to be mundane, its still historic
and precedent setting for the disclosure by the MX military.

Each and every explanation, mundane and otherwise, must be
considered on its merits. So far, the easy pot-shots look
pretty weak to me ( meteors, balloons, politics..) This does not
rule out better explanations later.

I leave it to the experts to unravel this one. Failing that, we
could all take a vote right after church.

Best wishes
