Hi Larry,

I appreciate your interest. What I reported about Greer claiming
to have been aboard spacecraft with friendly space brothers is,
in my opinion, quite true. First let me point out that the CSETI
solicitation for attendees to buy into that $600 (or more)
admission event by Greer said:

"The event will be an informal gathering where Dr. Greer will
present his first hand accounts and personal experiences, dating
from childhood, regarding: ...+ What extraterrestrial contact is
really about..."

Doesn't seem to suggest what I said, because it apparently
promises that Greer will reveal: "...personal experiences dating
from childhood, regarding... what extraterrestrial contact is
really about..."?

Is it any wonder he wants the attendees to keep what he tells
them to themselves, signing a non-disclosure statement?!

The friend who had the most extended contact with Greer, the one
of my friends to whom Greer told the most about his alleged
visits aboard spacecraft with benign space beings, spent a
couple of days here last weekend. He had told me about Greer's
first-hand accounts of allegedly being aboard spacecraft on
several occasions before, but I grilled him repeatedly about it,
wanting to be sure that he had heard it first-hand, 'from the
horse's mouth', as the saying goes. He was unequivocal about
what Greer had told him and was equally confident that Greer's
claims are untrue. He also expressed his belief that, based on
his encounters with him, that Greer is emotionally unstable and
possibly the most emotionally volatile character he has ever

Sure, that's just one man's experience with, and reactions to,
Greer, but my friend-informant is a highly experienced
investigator, and I know him well enough to have confidence in
his account and his sizing-up of Greer, and would add that what
I was told confirmed precisely my 'gut' impressions of Greer's
personality from having watched him talk on his disclosure video
and on several TV appearances.

So do I believe my friend's accounts of what Greer told him?
100% I am confident my friend told the truth about what Greer
had claimed to him and to others in his presence. I have heard
it from others, of course, too.

Maybe someone should run a disclosure project on Greer. :)

One might also ask him why he tries to usurp the famous SETI
(Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligences) acronym and its
reputation with the media by using SETI with a "C" in front of
it, as CSETI for his organizational acronym.

Likewise, one wouldn't have to look very far to discover his
apparent motivation for usurping the name of my laboratory for
instrumented UFO studies, Project Starlight, so embarrassing me
and my project with his flashlight brigades before the visual
media under that name, as to cause me to hesitate to use that
name ever again. Notice how on this list I have usually referred
to it a simply, "the project". Well, now you know the reason

Some people who have little confidence in themselves like to
cause themselves to be mistaken for other better known persons,
when circumstances permit. With organizations, it is as easy as
borrowing (Or, should it be called stealing?) all or part of a
more reputable organization's name and hoping to be mistaken for
it. Having lifted the acronym SETI and the name Project
Starlight, one wonders what else Greer and company might be have
been 'lifting'.

That same syndrome seems evident in Greer's constant name
dropping. I have never seen anyone pump so much hot air into
merely polite acknowledgements by famous persons simply
responding to a person's (Greer's, in this case) overtures. Bob
Oeschler came in a distant second to Greer's exploitation of
this tactic.

Caveat emptor!

Ray Stanford
