Thanks Paul,

Received this as an explanation from Nick Balaskas as well.

JPL should have photos of these on record to begin with. I'm
sure they would want to know the condition of the hardware used
to land the craft on the Martian surface. I think the scientists
at JPL are in overload mode. There's probably too much
information coming in for them to key their photographs in any
meaningful manner.
