Please keep my name out of this. Yes, every instinct tells me
that the Gulf Breeze photos are hoaxed, but since I lack
technical training (and, for that matter, on-the-ground
investigative experience) in the matter, I have nothing useful
to say, con or pro, about Bruce Maccabee's work with the GB
pictures. I do, however, like and respect Bruce, whom I have
known since the 1970s, and have full confidence in his
integrity.  At the very worst he may simply be wrong (as I
suspect but can't prove), as everyone of us is about something
or other from time to time. That makes him neither a bad
investigator nor a bad human being.

At the very least, in an area as clouded as UFO research, there
ought to be room both to disagree with colleagues and to respect
-- even (or maybe especially) if they annoy or exasperate us --
 their sincerity and right to hold contrary opinions.

Otherwise, as I'm afraid we're seeing here (with the jaw-
dropping talk of polygraph tests, et al.), we're off on
something that looks less like a research project than a witch
