Hi Everyone!

On February 6 this year I had the opportunty to hear Dr. William
K. Hartmann, an internationally known painter; scientist with
the U.S. Mars Global Surveyor mission (MGS) and author of the
book, 'A Traveler's Guide To Mars', at a talk about Mars that he
gave at the Ontario Science Centre.

Dr. Hartmann mentioned that the late Dr. Carl Sagan never ruled
out the possibility of large animals or macrobes moving around
the surface of Mars. The book 'The Search for Life on Mars' has
a chapter just on Dr. Sagan which deals with his involvement in
the life experiments which were onboard the two Viking landers
that successfully landed on Mars in 1976 and his beliefs that
not only microbes but plants such as trees and even animals like
rabbits hopping by may also exist on Mars.

Is this "Bunny" seen in some pictures taken by the Mars rover
Opportunity to be moving its ears(!) but mysteriously absent in
later pictures taken of the same area, or those mushroom-like
stemmed blueberries or even the pictures which seem to depict
forests on Mars taken by MGS that Dr. Hartmann includes in his
book without much comment, evidence that Dr. Sagan was right all
along about such "macrobes" existing on Mars?
