In case you've not come across them before, you might be
interested in the following figures, which show the number of
UFO sighting reports submitted to the UK Ministry of Defence:

1960 - 31
1961 - 71
1962 - 46
1963 - 51
1964 - 74
1965 - 56
1966 - 95
1967 - 362
1968 - 280
1969 - 228
1970 - 181

As you can see, 1967 was a significant year for ufology in the
UK too. We discussed some of the problems with figures in the
recent thread on Off-Season UFOs (a thread on which you
commented), but for what it's worth, these are the raw data.
