Al, it will probably not make your down day any brighter, but
there's one very important thing you forgot:

The Hubble Space Telescope

It has facilitated and still is making possible more science
than all other space programs and space missions in the history
of humankind.

At least, you are right about one thing: the 'international
space station'. It seems to have been nothing so much as a State
Department aid program for Russia. :)
