There's a lesson here. Something had to happen. Gay marriage, or some other combination of moral decay must've done them in. The libs just have to find life somewhere else, and it has to be more advanced than ours. We are nothing but a bunch of schlubs. We are rudimentary simpletons, as proven by our tendency to war and fight with one another. Have you ever noticed that when liberals imagine life elsewhere, it's always smarter than we are? It's always more brilliant, because they can get here but we can't get there? Liberals like Spielberg make these UFO movies, and guess where they land? They land in trailer parks! If you are an advanced civilization why wouldn't you land at the Smithsonian? I'm fascinated if there is or was life up there, but James Michener wrote a great book called "Space." Based on what was known about the universe back in the 70s when the book came out, the conclusion was there may not be life elsewhere. Our earth may be so unique that the odds may be against life being anywhere else. It was controversial at the time, and it is still controversial now. Ladies and gentlemen, it may not have been gay marriage that did in the Martians. There once were Martians. We now know because NASA is telling us there's enough water up there to have sustained life. What could have happened? What could have caused the end of a truly superior and advanced civilization, one that had to previously occupy Mars to where it's now just basically a Dust Bowl? It had to be Halliburton or something like the Bush administration on Mars that used up all the resources, trying to advance their portfolios. Big business did in the Martians. If we can find the Martian stock market we'll find the answer. They didn't conserve, save the trees, save the natural, pristine tundra, and used up all the water -- probably while drilling for oil. It won't be long before this theory is advanced, at DemocratUnderground or some Howard Dean site, and it won't be long before John Kerry says Bush did not act soon enough to send troops to Mars to save the Martians. Mark my words.
