Hello Stan, Terry ..

I don't know what is actually being monitored, or how, or how
well. I would _hope_ that they are looking for any signal that
stands above the background noise of natural phenomena, analog
digital or whatever, given the limitations of our existing
technology, funding etc.

What would be far worse, would be for nobody to look or listen
at all.
