Hi Dan,

The point was that "no one even raised the question" (as I said
in my posting), no one said "We're lacking fundamental data
here, we need the FOV or we cannot go on like this, it's
ridiculous!" No one commented that without the FOV you can't do
any analysis of object size/distance, angles, etc. So it was
disconcerting and frustrating to see so many postings were
flying by and no one even stopped to say, "Wait a second! We
can't be spinning our wheels like this when we don't even know
the size of the photo or FOV." No one did that.

Someone needs to step back and take some stock in the level of
knowledge and understanding of basics. The 1958 Trindade photos
are a classic example of this. Over 40 years of alleged
"analyses" by supposed "experts" and not one of them until my
postings on UFO UpDates last year ever even mentioned let alone
used the FOV angular data, or said "We're missing the FOV guys!
We really can't do ANYTHING without the FOV."

As for Tim Shell yeah that's right all UFO "photo analysis" is
about is just the "UFO" image so why not just save everyone a
lot of trouble in photoanalysis and from now on use your amateur
notions and clip out all the rest of the photos, just leave the
UFO images. In fact let's enact a rule that from now on all UFO
photoanalysis will be carried out on the "UFO" images only and
any analysis of background and foreground and other data is
strictly forbidden.
