Hello Vince:

Somehow I missed that image as well.

Using the 08-4688 number, I browsed up a lot of web pages,
mostly from pro (Mars) life sites.

I found some official ones too, MOC / Malin SSS but those just
presented the strip image(s) without comment.

Other MOC images are presented with Malin/NASA commentary,
things like " the large crater at center is such-and-such in
size .. illumination is from the upper left .. the channel
suggests the possibility of an ancient stream .. "

But here I read nothing. Just the 04688 images, and you have to
download and search large files to get to the interesting parts.

If the experts at Malin SSS and/or NASA are undecided or
reluctant to give opinions about these odd features, they should
simply say so.

Not to do so only feeds the paranoia of conspiracy types etc.

While browsing, I found something else I had missed. So called
"spiders" are features that look (to me) like small canyons
branching and radiating out from central points, as if water
eroded them into a central drain hole!

Here's an interesting page about those:

"Fibonacci Branching" is found throughout nature, but always in
the context of living things, unlike river deltas, say. See page
above for a discussion of that.

I agree we should insist on some official discussion of these
features from the experts.

Is this geology? Fine. Lets all learn some new geology, and not
be treated to a wall of silence, as if we were simple minded
payers of the bills, otherwise left out of the loop.

Note: If man ever lands on Mars, it is absolutely imperative
that _no_trace_ of English Ivy be on board. Not a single
