about people who think they've had contact with aliens, and the
Harvard psychiatrist who believes them.

Harvard psychiatrist-turned-philosopher Dr. John Mack, an expert
on the alien encounter phenomenon and the central character in
the film, and Emmy-nominated filmmaker Laurel Chiten will be in
attendance for audience discussion.

When: Sat. Feb 28 at 7PM
Where: Saturday, Feb 28th, 7:00 pm
Raleigh Studios' Chaplin Building,
5300 Melrose Ave Hollywood
Price: Tickets $25; advance tickets available at

Three years in the making, TOUCHED weaves together stories of
people whose lives have been in some way "touched" by alien
encounters, whether real or imagined. Dr. Mack plays a central
role in the film, introducing his research into the lives of the
so- called "experiencers," who bring with them reports of
missing time, bodily probing, sperm extraction or impregnation,
a strange project to create a hybrid alien/human race and
apocalyptic warnings.

In presenting the lives of several "experiencers" of alien
contact, the film illustrates how the alien encounters can
paradoxically bring a sense of connection to other life while
also alienating people from a culture that does not believe in
their experiences.

Initially a skeptic, Chiten now labels herself an agnostic. "I
am not convinced that these people have been visited by aliens,
but I do believe that something profound has happened to them.
And maybe, just maybe, everything they have described is, in
fact, completely true."

In addition to Dr. Mack and several experiencers from the United
States and abroad, Chiten's film presents interviews with Mack's
nemesis at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Arnold Relman, as well as
British mythologian Patrick Harpur, former Vatican demonologist
Monsignor Corrado Balducci, Brazilian clinical psychologist
Gilda Moura, Radcliffe Fellow and social critic Wendy Kaminer,
and Professor of Law at Harvard Law School Alan M. Dershowitz.

"Touched offers a uniquely contemplative perspective on the
alien abduction phenomenon [and] presents the 'experiencers' and
their stories with sensitivity
and without judgement."

"Chiten's masterful accomplishment combines great tenderness
towards the 'experiencers' with rigorous questioning. It's a
mind-expanding journey that will
ignite debate."
=97Eleanor Nichols Director, Sonoma Film Institute,
Sonoma State University

"I screened TOUCHED at a symposium for undergraduate juniors.
Students' initial skepticism about the subject was replaced with
curiosity, tolerance, and a desire to understand. They could not
stop asking questions!"
