Hi Tim

Tim I can't prove the smug on the photo is a beetle I wish I
could but if it is the most common kind of beetle to be in
flight at this time of the year is the Christmas Beetle.

The Christmas Beetle is common in all parts of Australia their
colors vary from brown to gold to silver - they are most common
around Christmas time hence the name and can be seen throughout

They have white to translucent type wings hidden under their
shell like body and if captured in flight on a digital camera
could appear to be dome shaped.

To Frank & Amy thank you for your kind comments.

Food for thought.
