I've seen 180' <snip> Hello All, This post continued: >I've had a few hair-raising experiences. Something chased me >while I was in the car with my dad. >We'd seen something hovering and had got out to have a look when >two balls came out as if to get us. At that point I jumped back >in the car - I was all for leaving my dad on the side of the >road, I was that terrified. I just want to share an anecdote that kind of reinforces the reality of these encounters and how just about any human being might react. Budd Hopkins once relayed an account to me about a man who had been riddled with unresolved fears and guilt for years. During one of his hypnosis sessions the following comes out: This man and his young son were travelling in their car along a pretty desolate road when they spotted a UFO. The UFO lands, blocking the cars' path, and the vehicle shuts down. Some of the UFOs 'occupants' emerged from the craft, and they approached and surrounded the stalled automobile. The father, in what must have been a state of pure terror and blind panic pleaded with the 'aliens' to take his son and to leave him alone. They did just that. While reliving the experience during hypnosis this man had a tremendous cathartic experience. The sense of relief that he felt afterwards, from the release of the blocked and pent up emotions along with, finally, knowing what was at the core of his previously unresolved fears and guilt, had a markedly beneficial and therapeutic effect on this individual. The point? This guy reacted to an impossible situation the way that many others might have reacted, if confronted with similar circumstances. Emotions run the gamut in terms of how people feel and react when in a 'close contact' situation with a UFO or its occupants. But fear, terror, and confusion, along with awe, wonder and child-like amazement are all a part of the many emotional responses any one of us might expect to experience to such disturbingly close-encounters with the impossible. There but for the Grace of God go you or I. Regards, -keep watching the skies- John Velez.
