Dear Young (Bob), Listers and EBK,

Did I not mention in my last post that I had a calibrated
eyeball? I estimated it for God sakes. I've been looking through
telescopes and looking at stars since I was about 9 years old,
when dad bought me a three inch reflector.

My work on star trackers in the sixties and seventies required
that I be able to see, sense with the naked eye, color
differences as well as estimate distances between similacrum and
actual stars. The gimballed star trackers were in their early
stage of development then, and color temperature (above the
atmosphere) was something we did not know. Among many other
things.

Jim
