Gentle Men, Ladies and EBK,

Speaking with a skeptic is genuinely the worst experience a
person with an open mind may have. In some recent discussions I
had with a person on this list, I asked several questions which
were rather pointed and specific.

So as not to insult or divulge, as I happen to like this looney
bin and would not insult, I shall use an example.

I said, "Please pay specific attention to X and Y because I am
genuinely (and I was) interested in your take on it. It's
important to me to understand how your mind works when
confronted with X and Y and these two pieces of the puzzle are
intimately related to the UFO abduction phenomena."

In the discussion, Q, R and S were also discussed, however I
told this person to please look only at X and Y. For one thing,
Q, R and S had nothing at all to do with the phenomenon under
discussion, and bore little resemblance to the UFO abduction

Guess what I got back after he looked at Q, R, S, X and Y? He
came back with his take on everything but X and Y and proceeded
to debate the fallacy of the phenomenon based exclusively on Q,
R and S.

It was like banging my head against a brick wall. There is no
logic in the mind of the skeptic, except the logic of debating
anything which that skeptic may use to deflate the entire
phenomena, even though the argument used is not relevant. If
it's something he can prove or otherwise deflate the argument,
it's done against the entire topic.

So, we now speak only about fresh wine and cheese. I suggest
that the skeptibunkers out there take to drinking or other
substances during debate on the subject of UFO's and abduction.
Loosens the tongue and makes the man more pliable. Not to
mention making even more sense to himself whilst still being
unable to find the door.

I remain,

Jim Mortellaro
