I remain, largely, unimpressed. Mr. Kurtz is a brilliant
example, like B.F. Skinner, of how one can be so terribly,
terribly right, and at the same time be so woefully, regrettably
wrong. Dr. Skinner, the classic psychiatric behaviorist (and
probably a _favorite_ of Kurtz, I'd wager), was right that human
beings could be conditioned to do anything a 'conditioner' might
desire, but dreadfully wrong regarding whether human beings
_should_ be conditioned at all (at _least_ without informed
consent). Behaviorist doctrine means patent disrespect for an
individual.

As fine a man as Kurtz 'may' be, he's still a great example of
how much the world is improved by most funerals. His "Committee
for the Silly and Insentient Commitment of Obdurate Persons" is
evidence enough. His 'pawl' works in reverse.

I had the distinct displeasure of doing a TV show (The Shulman
File) with Kurtz in Toronto. He is a typical nasty noisey
negativist who hadn't done his home work at all, but still came
on strong with his research by proclamation. Facts don't matter
to him. Instead it is bias, prejuduce and ignorance. What a
combination!

He demostrated these same characteristics on a Larry King show I
saw years ago.
