Before we get too heavily into the balloon theory - what balloon
and where are the reports that they brought down a balloon or
that it was finally identified as a balloon? Where's the
balloon?

This AA firing should be taken seriously, for if memory serves,
someone was killed as a result of the AA fire which eventually
comes back down - somewhere. Am I wrong about this last
statement?

Surely someone would have been taken to task over this if it was
a real event? Where's the military reports? These things don't
happen without some sort of accounting.

Bob, your mention of the Fort Fisher's Atlantic Coast Firing
Range of firing at gas-filled balloons was probably for AA
target practice and not to learn how to shoot down balloons.

Best,

Don Ledger
