List, All -

This is a story that I have been chasing for the last five
years. I followed the course of this material from Washington,
DC, to Maxwell Air Force Base and finally back to Washington and
the National Archives. In fact, I told the Archives they had the
material when their response to my FOIA request was to suggest
that I contact Headquarters, USAF. I responded that they had the
material, told them when they had gotten it, and who,
specifically had sent it. They then asked me to wait three
months while they indexed it.

There are actually more than eleven boxes and one of them
contained the court martial transcript of a doctor assigned to
Roswell but that had nothing to do with UFOs and took place some
ten years later (1957). I don't know why it was in the boxes,
but it was, in fact, the original transcript and should have
been sent back to JAG rather than being filed with the Roswell
stuff. I filled out a form to have it sent back.

There were some interesting things in those files. McAndrew had
suggested a testimonial dinner for Charles Moore for all his
help with Mogul. There were formerly classified evaluations of
various 8th Air Force commanders including Blanchard which does
away with this "loose cannon" nonsense. And there was lots of
crap that meant nothing but filled box after box.

I will point out that the stuff I was after through my twenty or
thirty FOIA requests to various agencies was not there. I
continue that search, which hints as to what I have been doing
on the Roswell investigation. While others keep chasing new
witnesses like the somewhat unreliable Tex (who really should
have been called Swede), I have been trying to fill in the
document trail. I know where it is but I'm having trouble with
the government allowing me to walk along it.

And for those of you who think I might have violated the
confidentiality agreement I signed with the producers, it only
covered material that I hadn't seen and that they had
discovered. Had it not been for my research, and telling NARA
that they had the stuff, this documentary probably wouldn't have
gotten off the ground.

The point here, I suppose, is to let you know that there are
some interesting points that were found but it certainly isn't
the Final Declassification.
