To show mass Gullibility and mass Mind Control.

You ask what did he have to gain.? "Not much with the UFO
community" but quite a bit of free publicity.

 >Why on earth should a man risk his professional reputation for
 >absolutely no benefit and much loss?

Did he really risk his reputation?? or was it the ufologist's
that went there to see his show, were they the ones that risked
their reputation. Think about it over 300 people interested in
UFOs got suckered in paid for a ticket to see a UFO?.

The audience wanted to see a UFO and they wanted confirmation
and unwittingly they became part of an experiment. Please read

Good question Dave but why would they bother. Wasn't the soul
purpose of the show to show how the masses the audience could be
mind controlled into think they were going to see something.?
Credit were credit is due, he did what he said he was going to
do he controlled the audience and with the help of the media he
draw a crowd. I'm not giving him any support I think it is
shameful to play on a persons weaknesses...but he's a showman
and he did what he does best..he put on a show.

Did he really get duped.?

Maybe to make people think of how vulnerable they are and to
show how easy it is to mind control people. Or did he just
point out, if you believe in something you will see what you
believe. Was this the exercise the experiment.?

 >Basically to discredit UFOs as reality.

No I don't think so. I think it was to wake people up and I dare
say some UFO enthusiast are feeling quite embarrassed at being
suckered in.

I guess you're right Dave.....
