 >So what was the Kreskin UFO hoax all about?

 >Kreskin ends up looking stupid and irresponsible and he's

 >the money to a charity. So what has he really gained?

The truth is that we _really_ don't know that he in fact is
going to give any kind of money to any charity. Even if he said
he would one would be wise to contact that charity and verify..
I suspect it won't, then he will come up with some story about
how he really did donate but....

 >Why on earth should a man risk his professional reputation for
 >absolutely no benefit and much loss?

Like many others over the years. We heard about alleged mass ET
landings in the desert South West to happen on April 24th, 1997.
It never happened, but people promoted it, defended the story,
and so forth...that is until it never happened then most of the
folks moved on to the next story being told and none of the
defenders/promoters when contacted were then claiming that they
had never believed it in the first place.

You had some people promoting the story about alleged ET landing
on a mountain top in Arizona in December of 2000. This was even
promoted and defended on radio shows and what not. It never
happened.

Kreskin was nothing more then one of the latest crop of story
tellers making the rounds.

 >Perhaps the deeper question is : Was he duped by 'friends' in
 >the intel community - and if so why?

He was a fool, making a foolish prediction and gulliable people
believed him.

 >I wondered if he'd been tipped off that some of the craft at
 >Area 51 nearby were about to show themselves.......but he was
 >fed a lie.

Doesn't add up. Here the guy was trying to hypnotize a large
audience (who apparently didn't hypnotize) then when he said
look up and see the UFO, the people looked up, saw nothing,
instantly realized they had been gulliable fools. I suspect if
Kreskin had stayed in the area he might have been lynched by the
people who bought in to the story. Needless to say he took the
safe way out and beat a hasty retreat.

 >Why does a man willingly destroy his lifetime career on live
 >national radio and TV unless he's being duped by somebody else?

People do it all the time. You have quite a number of people that
have discredited themselves, and or their information turns out to
be absolutly untrue or wrong and they still make the circuit on
the radio and TV shows not to mention the UFO lecture circuit.

 >The other alternative for you conspiracy buffs is that he is
 >happy to cough up $50,000 because he's being paid $200,000 by
 >some shadow government to lay on this hoax.

The $50 Grand was just smoke and mirrors. At the current state
of ufology with various people like Reed and others floating
around you don't need a shadow govt to do anything. Just let
human nature take its course and they will shoot themselves in
the foot. Look at all the so called UFO conferences that
entertain people whose background/credentials and basic story
can't be verified but yet they keep inviting the people back one
after another.

I predict that Kreskin will appear on radio/TV with newer,
better UFO stories and we will hear how the evil cover up
sabatoged the event and made him look like a fool. Meaning it
will not be his fault, nor will he take responsibility for it.

Cheers,

Robert
