Hello Dave:

Even Art Bell was asking the same thing: Why?

I sure don't know, but there must be at least two reasons: a
good one, and the real one.

What I do _not_ see happening is some agency paying Kreskin many
many thousands just to discredit UFOs and ufology.

Kreskin speaks for neither. Kreskin bills himself as a
"mentalist", a sort of cross between a mind-reader and a Uri
Geller without the bent brass keys. The only thing discredited
is the Kreskin dog and pony show, not UFOs in particular nor in

If some group or agency wanted to discredit UFO studies, they
could do so _far_ more cheaply, easily and effectively by simply
encouraging some of the more credulous individuals within our
own ranks; feeding them false leads etc.

This still leaves us with the mystery of Kreskin's motivations
of course. I would like to hear anything he has to say about
it, but lots of luck.

Whenever Art Bell tried to pin him down for details, he turned
into a verbal osterizer, changing the subject with an oily ease
that might make Hoagland envious.

Best wishes
