I have to agree with you, for the most part. It's indeed ironic
that an organization supposedly devoted to tearing into and
exposing cultish mentalities behaves so much like one.

I stopped reading the 'Skeptical Inquirer' after encountering an
article that attempted to bolster the Air Force's "balloon
dummy" theory by using words from none other than Gerald
Anderson! The author obviously knew that Anderson was
"questionable" at best, but this didn't stop him from using his
(carefully selected) quotes to bolster the AF's conclusion.

CSICOP generally never fails to annoy me with its vitriolic
attacks and selective commentary. Can't "debunk" the Face on
Mars? Ten root in the dumpster for nasty things to say about
Richard Hoagland and hope the readership is too ignorant to know
that the Face and Mr. Hoagland are two entirely seperate
subjects.
