Malcolm

I would tend to agree with most of what you've said, but believe
the credibility of ufology has been stymied by more than it's
own failings. CISCOP often shows the same tendancies of
expressing facts based on faith and belief, as oppsed to
evidence and data, so we find that both sides (in some ways)
suffer the same failings. The sad fact is that for most people
this is a form of entertainment, and not a pursuit of scientific
truth. For others the genre has become a ray hope for a better
future, which is similar to that of may religions.

There are those who would pursue this from a scientific
perspective, but it's difficult to gain attention when the noise
level is so high and both sides in the debate have already
convinced themselves of the "truth".

Steve
