Not only do I agree with you, Eleanor, that 9-11 has slammed the
brakes on UFOs in general and the Disclosure train in
particular, but I suggested just that in a year end wrap-up on

For saying it, I was soundly thrashed on this List for
being "too negative". Oh well, Heinlein was right, Cassandra
didn't get half the kicking she deserved.

This whole debate underlines the importance of SDI, and in
reading everyone's comments, and thinking up replies, it occurs
to me one path that should, short _and_ long term, generate more
media coverage about UFOs. Complain about it.

When a major case moves... and on this Listm and Rensem a lot of
UFO reports are published less than 24 hours after they occur.

Call your local newspaper, radio and tv station, ask to speak to
the editor, the news director or senior news producer, ask to
know why they felt they could ignore a story covered by
(Whatever the source.)

Here in Canada, _don't_ forget CBC, local and national, CTV
local and national, same for Global, my station CITY-TV and, the
cousin I helped launch, Cable Pulse 24... As well as Broadcast
News and Canadian Press... wire and broadcast services that feed
the smaller Canadian stations.

In the States its A-P Associated Press, or UPI United Press
International... although I'm half certain UPI went mams up
Chapter 13 a while back. Of course the obvious, the local
affilate of the Big three networks... and don't forget Fox, W-B
and the ever-loving CNN.

In the broadcast business the rule of thumb at many places
is... every phone call of praise or complaint is an opinion
shared by a thousand viewers who didn't bother to write or pick
up the phone. Most Stations keep a log of viewers comments where
production staff can read it. At CITY the comments are typed and
posted daily, all senior staff read them on a regular basis.

The squeaky wheel gets greased and, if enough people contact
their local media demanding coverage of current on-going
cases, in time we _will_ see the serious coverage this topic so
richly deserves.

Although, the cynical news-man side of me says that will happen
the same time there's sudden outbreak of ethics among federal
elected officials......
