Personally, I have no problem with the idea that cattle mutilations have a purely human explanation. But I'd be very surprised to learn that they're the result of "a small band of social misfits." This sounds very much like the mainstream press' eager acceptance of those two English guys who claimed that they were responsible for crop circles--_all_ of them! Of course, this prediction has yet to come true, but I don't think it would take much for a moronic, facile "explanation" to be swallowed whole by the media--especially if mutilations have some link with black-ops biological research. "Misfits" would make an excellent cover indeed, if handled right. --Mac Tonnies
