Hi Bob, No. Like his co-workers, my father was an engineer, non a reporter. He started in radio then, like most, moved on to TV. It wasn't his place to make decisions about what stories to run, even under normal conditions, and certainly not in the face of some goon from the government. Interesting that your father was hassled by the government, so apparently something DID happen to him even if nothing was confiscated. I'm glad he didn't buckle under. On the other hand, as I was telling Dave Vetterick in another post, much of the final outcome depends on the individual's own willingness to take a perceived risk regarding his life or livlihood. I spoke with my own father after your last post and he stands by his claims. Apparently, my father's remote crew was not the only one that suffered this problem. His conversations with other stations in the area showed that their remote crews were dealing with the same thing. During the hey-days of NASA, when the networks used pool coverage and everything was piped through Houston, he said it was the worst ever for some reason, even if the story had nothing to do with the space program! Go figure. Maybe it has someting to do with Houston... Later, Roger Evans
