I thought the Net might find it interesting. It's the first case we've seen where the masking is so vividly revealed AND has independent evidence to back it up. Matthew and I lead a group of non-aligned researchers who are professionals (hypnotherapists, physicists, etc.) called Australia UFO Encounters. The slow motion recall hypnotic technique is one we are exploring. To network group Two people were recently sent to me over a possible UFO Abduction. The husband and wife were driving home late at night when the husband had the urge to take a "short cut" home. Normally the trip would take 30 minutes. This trip, the supposed short cut, took one and a half hours. During the hypnosis session the man only saw bits and pieces of his alien experience (his wife, terrifyingly, remembered more as we progressed into the session with her husband, though she was not under hypnosis). Normally, the wife, "other abductee" would not be present during a hypnotic regression. But this was no normal regression. We had a film crew in making a documentary called "Romancing the Chakra". They supplied to me the abductees to work upon. My office was lit for filming so I suggested to the husband he wear a sleeping mask across the eyes so that the lights would not bother him. He readily accepted. He remembered going down the road and then the road looking strange. He could not easily recognize common landmarks. He knew something had happened but could not recall what. On further deepening he recalled that the car was frozen, he was alone and that there was a light to the left up in the sky. He heard a buzzing or humming sound and next recalled a corridor. As he was remembering this, he said he felt warm and good, that the light outside that car was making him feel "warm, good, and happy". Then as he tried to focus upon the experience he heard in his mind another thought --which he said emanated from (in his words) "The right side of my brain" . He turned to his right as if following the memory visually. He literally tracked the thought coming in. It said: "Nothing happened, you just drove home, you feel so warm, happy and good". (It is interesting to note that in his recall of the abduction memory, --in hypnosis and when recalling the event BEFORE the Hypnotic induction-- he would gulp and you could easily see his fear and terror. He said "It took me and my wife over a year to go down that road again and when we did, it was in the daytime") Now he was remembering two simultaneous experiences. Driving home feeling good. And the other, the terrifying UFO abduction. He laughed as the conflict amused him. The thought that "nothing happened" comforted him and primarily took over, and masked the memory of the experience. One would wonder if he simply made the whole alien abduction thing up! But looking at his terrified wife, in the room with us proved that she remembered the incident and not the happy one. Talking to her later she recalled (without hypnosis) that the car was frozen and that she was alone. Remember that he recalled the car being frozen and being alone. I conclude that both had missing time, and away from each other. Clinically it was interesting to note that I relaxed him to see things in slow motion, bit by bit, piece by piece. So when I said focus on the light outside the car, he literally was aware of his own brain firing (uploading a new program?) a new memory pattern into his mind. He said it "emanated from the right side of his head". This unfolded so slowly, we could track its influence and power, simply because the alternative thought was becoming dominant in his mind=85 "Nothing happened, you simply drove home" You feel happy, peaceful, warm" The more he tried to get the original memory, the more warm and fuzzy he felt, (appeared almost drunk). His wife however, wanted to run from the room, remembered more of the experience=85. "The UFO room with metal protrusions, a factory of some sort". He has a scoop mark and his daughter has one too. The wife has developed only recently, hyperthyroidism, and the doctors cannot explain her condition coming on so swiftly and late in life=85 On awakening he still had the two memories, the happy one dominating, triggered by us probing into the abduction experience. Both are willing to have more investigative hypnotic work be done Post note: (Now I stress, as we probed his UFO abduction, this new "masking" memory triggered itself within him and eventually took over his experience and memory of the event. I did not create this hypnotically, nor suggest it. I was somewhat powerless to stop this, and the more I focused him on the "abduction experience", the stronger the alternative trigger got. I saw this unfold in the hypnosis chair in front of me, he felt "warm happy and good". You could see the new thought triggering a new experience and warm happy feelings washed in and became the more dominant memory of his experience. "Nothing happened, you just drove home, you feel so warm, happy and good". ) Matthew Favaloro Australia UFO Encounters http://www.flex.com.au/~eagle1
